At least seven people were killed in a mass shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, and the suspect has been arrested, law enforcement sources told NBC News.

Authorities are currently in the early stages of investigating, but have not officially identified what prompted the shooter to open fire on a grocery store.
Tops Friendly Markets spokeswoman Kathleen A. South said in a statement. “We are shocked, deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence; our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.”
“Our priority remains the health and well-being of our partners and customers,” he said. “We appreciate the prompt response of local law enforcement and provide all available resources to assist the authorities in their ongoing investigation.”
