Bruins Bergeron wins the 2022 Selke Cup

Boston Browns center: Patrice Bergeron voted winner of the Frank J. Selke Trophy 2021-22 NHL: announced Sunday. The victory is the fifth for Bergeron, a record.

The award is given each year to the striker who “voted the best to excel in defense.” Bergeron bypassed Bob Gainy, who won the cup four times Montreal Canadians 1977-81 with a record victory.

Bergeron led the NHL with a percentage of opposition (61.9%), first with victories (991), second (1600) and third with a percentage of resistance in the defensive zone (59.3%). He finished third among the Bruins strikers in one game on ice (18:10), second in one game on ice (1:41), second in free kicks (45) and third (37).

Florida Panthers center: Alexander Barkov և: Calgary Flames center: Elias Lindholm were the other participants in the final round of the award.
