HP has a Center Stage clone on one of its monitors

HP’s upcoming 23.8-inch Z24m monitor Designed for creative professionals և Comes with a webcam that tracks your movement to keep you in the frame during video calls, like Apple’s centerpiece in its Studio Display և on some iPads (via Ars Technica:): The Z24m 5MP tilt webcam is mounted on top of the monitor, which, like Ars Technica: points out, it’s supposed to focus on you, even if other people are in the background.

An HP spokesman said: Ars Technica: that you can adjust your webcam settings to track it faster. And while you can not remove the webcam from the monitor, you can press it down to hide it from view. The Z24m also has dual noise-canceling microphones, dual speakers that can eliminate the need to use an external headset, and a microphone. As for the screen itself, the Z24m has an IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, a fairly fast 90 Hz refresh rate of 5 ms, as well as support for HDR.

The monitor supports HP Auto Lock & Awake: functionality as well. This feature uses a built-in proximity sensor, not a webcam, to detect when you are in front of a screen. If you turn on the function, the monitor should lock automatically when you leave, then turn it on again when you return.

It’s unclear how comparing it to an HP webcam Apple’s central stage, which uses machine learning technology to help keep you (մեկ someone else in the frame with you) in the center of the screen. The 27-inch studio screen is equipped with iPhone 11 A13 Bionic chip 12MP central camera functionality to assist, among other functions. There have been some issues with the image quality of the webcam, however, Apple has pushed for software updates refer to this, but that has not been completely fixed yet.

The Z24m will be released in July, with no pricing yet. HP is also launching the Z24q this month for $ 347, a monitor that has very similar specifications but no video conferencing capabilities. If that’s the price tag on the Z24m, it will probably be much lower than the $ 1,599 price of Studio Display, which would potentially exist as a more affordable alternative.
