Admittedly, I’m not the world’s leading musician. Hell, my musical taste is somewhere “what now” և “oh, good”. Alice, on the other hand, knows music. That’s why when we started working together, he told me that his co-worker Doug had a band, that they were good, I knew they would be good. That’s my introduction to Lucid Fly և (drum roll) they are finally releasing their first studio album. Doug asked if we could make a cocktail for their album, who am I to say no? Introducing Lucid Fly cocktail.
First, go check out their album Building castles in the air և Buy one or three copies (you will like it, promise).
The second thing, the second. Doug decided he wanted to challenge us for this Lucid Fly-inspired cocktail. Did that seem like a challenge? Good by me. I like a good challenge.
Our challenge was that this cocktail should be something they could make in advance to serve in a pitcher or dispenser, they wanted a non-alcoholic version for the sake of escaping me, but I’m sure they did. are: very good reasons.
A piece of ice cream for the astronauts I thought was entirely possible.
For inspiration, I understood the meaning of their band name in space, spaceflight և astronauts (now you see where I realized it would be as easy as a piece of ice cream for astronauts).
For this purpose, this cocktail could have only one basis – the drink of astronauts – Tang.
From there it was a matter of thinking like a rock star. Which good rock star does not appreciate bourbon? None that I can imagine. Roughly speaking, if Jack on the rocks is good enough for the board chairman (it’s Frank Sinatra for you, not the Sinatras), then any music-loving star will usually approve of bourbon.
Now that we had a solid foundation from Tang (epic!) Ուրբ bourbon, I wanted to play with their album Building castles in the air և The first single – “Visions of Grandeur”. They both have a common dream, imagination and vision. Help tool. Absent.
Now we are talking. Space drink? Check. Approved by music royalties? Check. An artist who is supposed to help you have visions? Check.
After playing with the flavors, we added cherry liqueur և bitter cherry to make everything round out nicely.
Oh, and the non-alcoholic version. Done և done. Tang plus cherry juice ղ star anise simple syrup. It will not give you visions. Or a buzz. But the taste is quite good.
Now, to the Lucid Fly cocktail.
Lucid Fly cocktail
Author: Drink blog
Recipe type: Drinks:
- 1 ounce bourbon
- 1 ounce cherry herring
- 2 ounces Tang
- Դալ teaspoon of absinthe
- Dash cherry bitters:
- Orange circles
- The type of glass is antique
- Perform your Tang.
- It is inseparable, you see, astronaut.
- Add your bourbon, cherry herring (it’s liqueur), tang և absinthe in ice-cream cocktail shakes.
- Stop it.
- Fill your old-fashioned glass with ice.
- Pour your Lucid Fly cocktail.
- Decorate with an orange circle.
- Hear the building of castles in the air.
- Go out my friends, rock out.
1 bottle of bourbon (750 ml)
1 bottle of cherry herring (750 ml)
1.5 liter Tang
1 ounce absinthe
Ounce cherry bitters
Add all of them to your jug without ice (you do not want to water it). Mix, shake, do not rattle, roll or whatever you want to connect. Throw in a few orange slices to make it look great. Then divide it into the drinking glasses you use. They will have your ice. Oh, decorate them with orange circles if you feel super decorative.
If you want to make a boring non-alcoholic version, it is 3 parts Tang, 1 part cherry juice, 1 part star anise simple syrup (take a part of water, a part of sugar, cook them with a bunch of star anise). If you want more volume, I’ll let you do that math.
