Rap star J. Cole will play basketball for the team in Scarborough CBC Sports:

American rap superstar Jay Cole will direct his basketball talents to Canada.

CEBL announced on Thursday that the 6’3-inch guard, born Jermaine Cole, has signed with the Scarborough Shooting Stars to continue his professional basketball career.

Cole, 37, is set to start his second consecutive professional basketball career last season after playing in the African Basketball League against the Rwandan BBC in Rwanda.

Before leaving the team due to family obligations, the rapper scored five points in three games, three assists and five rebounds.

He joins Scarborough, Ont. to the team that will spend its start-up season last summer after being announced as the new CEBL Expansion Club.

The Shooting Stars is partly owned by Nicolas Carino, one of the co-founders of the popular clothing and lifestyle brand OVO (October’s Very Own).

Shooting Stars staff includes Jamal Magluar, a former NBA player, Toronto Raptors basketball development consultant, community ambassador, vice president, senior adviser, and Brady Heslip, a former Canadian national team player and general manager.

Cole is likely to have to leave the team for most of the season.

The first game of The Shooting Stars will take place on May 26, when they visit the Guelph Nighthawks, which you can watch live. CBCSports.ca:. Their first home game is on June 4 against Hamilton Hun Badgers.

After that, there is one more game on June 7, at home against the Newfoundland Groulers, before Cole could play before the tour.

Cole will begin his tour on June 10 in New York. When he starts his tour, Scarborough will still have 15 games to play.
