Spotify “mixes” your playlists with K-pop stars

After presenting it Mix playlists Last year, Spotify announced on Friday that it was expanding its functionality include K-pop artists – Yes, it includes the mega popular boyband BTS.

Spotify Blend playlists are an easy way for users to create shared playlists based on each user’s listening preferences. in March the company released updates for music discovery feature that includes the ability to “mingle” with up to 10 people or musicians. This new K-pop extension is an example of the latter.

K-pop Blend artists include BTS, Stray Kids, ENHYPEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Nmixx և AB6IX. The function will mix your favorite tracks with the above groups. Of course, this would not be a Spotify feature if it did not include some data. After merging playlists, you can get a “sharing card” that shows the “taste matching” points, indicating which songs you have in common. The cards can then be shared on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat or Twitter.

Part of what has become a global K-pop phenomenon in recent years is the fact that bands are incredibly active online. Idols are encouraged to interact with fans on various social media platforms, which in turn encourages parasocial relations with the fans. Spotify’s Blend feature blends in perfectly with that dynamic, as it creates the feeling that you know something about a particular group or idol.

Whether Spotify playlists are in place is a different matter altogether. My BTS Blend playlist seems to suggest BTS, և I would love to hear a lot of Post Malone … և I’m fine.
